Description/Job Summary

 To solicit and develop new lending relationships in Arkansas County.  To evaluate and administer a portfolio of Agriculture loans.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Build relationships with farmers in Arkansas County and surrounding area by networking with farmers and the farm community.
  • Analyze the financial history of applicants to determine the general credit worthiness of the applicant and the merits of a specific loan request.
  •  Maintain continuing contact with assigned customer accounts to grow, cultivate and develop the current customer base and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship.
  •  Manage loan requests and maintenance to the customer’s expectations.
  •  Negotiate credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
  •  Monitor loan repayment activities, the collection of past due accounts and credit and collateral deficiencies, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain interest rate structure to be consistent with financial institution policies and procedures, and to be competitive with current market rates.
  • Evaluate potential customer loan requests and makes loan recommendations to Management.
  • Market and cross-sell products and services that will be beneficial to existing and potential customers, including but not limited to, Treasury Management products.
  • Adhere to loan policies and procedures with complete documented files to ensure satisfactory reviews from internal and external audits.
  • Adhere to business professional conduct and code of ethics with compliance to securing customer information and maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
  • Attend committee meetings and conference calls relating to lending functions as requested by Senior Management.
  • Attend on-site customer visits to monitor farm or other conditions.
  • Participate in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
  • Review new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution; make recommendations to Management when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Live in the Arkansas County area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, agriculture, or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, the public, or management.
  • Strong time manage skills
  • Be a self-starter
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
